It is important to select the best timber available for the ends of the Hardwood Gates. This ensures minimal twist in the structure of the gate.
This specific project was made out of Sapele which is a tropical Hardwood.

It is paramount that the Lattice spacing is correct to ensure both gates are uniform.
All ends of the Lattice were tenoned 8mm in from each end, this prevents water ingress into the mortise holes of the bespoke Driveway Gates.

The custom designed and built hardwood gates and fence panels perfectly fit our front driveway and boundary. Even though the ground slopes in two directions as we are on a steep hill, the gates are a snug enough fit to keep our small dog secure and also have a made to measure trellis so that it doesn’t look like a fortress! Jack worked until dusk including at the weekend to make sure the gates fitted perfectly and smoothly swung open and closed. A real perfectionist and top of that he is a really nice bloke - we throughly recommend him and his company.

There were also 3 Gates made for this specific job. Gothic arches were cut using our Bandsaw and Sanded for the finishing touches.
